The Best from 1985
As I got further on in the 1980s, I got increasingly further away from the country-western flavor of much of my early material. The Tim Gallant Anthology, Volume 3, featuring high points from 1985, reflects this. The songs are more structured, and they lean more toward a rock edge.
So far as the signature holiness-or-hell mentality, yes, it’s still here, but present more as admonition than nuclear blast (as some of the earlier material could be accused of). And while it’s true that my less mature work was not completely one-sided, the songs here do show a better balance: there’s more hope, grace, and gratitude on offer than there had been before. I was, I suppose, growing up.
To have something recorded for some of the better material, I did these rough recordings in the mid 2000s. Audio and lyrics below.
All recordings here are subject to possible future polishing.
